Březina Nature Trail through Kostomlaty Castle

The circular nature trail, the beginning and end of the trail is in the locality of the ponds below Kostomlaty Castle.

Route: easy trail with a total length of 7 km.

Start and Finish: the start and end of the trail is in the area of the ponds below Kostomlaty Castle.

The trail features the functions of the forest, information about the trees, herbs and animals of the local forests, supplemented by quotations from Josef Suchomel's book "Where the Earth has Forgotten".

The trail includes an unmarked branch to Kostomlaty Castle and a marked branch to the Military Pond (640 m). An interesting feature is stop No. 3, where visitors directly pass through an active landslide. The trail also leads past the Březina Nature Reserve, where the reason for protection is an old beech forest on the slope of the Březina plateau and a small peat bog with two islands of living peat in a pond, formed in a depression probably by a landslide.

On the way you can also make a detour to Pařez.
