The former Jesuit Church of the Annunciation is an important monument of Baroque architecture. It was built in the years 1701-1731 by Octavio Broggio.
The gallery used the consecrated church (1965 – 1975) as a depository and restoration and carpentry workshops. In 1975, the former church was handed over to the District National Committee in Litoměřice, which began to adapt it for the purposes of the district archive.
In 1992, it was handed back to the North Bohemian Gallery of Fine Arts. Together with the Symposion Foundation, it organized four years of art symposia: Baroque and Today and Open Dialogue.
The church is currently used mainly for art exhibitions, international art symposia of the North Bohemian Gallery of Fine Arts and for concerts of classical music.
