In the 16th century, however, the importance of the castle dropped significantly and the Thirty Years' War was its final straw. In the second half of the 20th century, the castle was preserved for a long time and partially reconstructed. Its best-preserved part is the chemise wall with a battlement and a high prismatic tower on the entrance side, surrounding fragments of an older core on a central sandstone block.
Helfenburk Castle
The original Ronovec Castle from the first half of the 14th century was significantly expandend and enhanced by the well-known Archbishop of Prague, Jan of Jenštejn, at the end of the same century.
