The Church of the Ascension of Our Lady is situated in the centre of Ústí nad Labem town. It was built around 1318. At the time of the Hussite wars, its tower and triple-nave construction. Its reconstruction did not start until 1452. In the 1880s, the church was rebuilt, this time in the Neo-Gothic style. The bombing of the city in April 1945 seriously damaged the foundations of the temple tower and it was diverted from the vertical axis by almost 2 metres. The dominant feature of the church is an altar with glass foot, representing the art of the 20th century.
